Product Description
Quest bars have the best nutritional profile. We've got 20g of protein, 4g non-fiber carbs, and no sugar alcohols or other junk. And most importantly, our bars taste better than any other bar. As most people know, if you want to stay healthy, lose fat or build LEAN, fat-free muscle, you must control your carb intake. That's why we've worked so hard to create bars with so few grams of available carbohydrates (almost all of Quest Bar's carbs come from inert fiber which helps keep you full but doesn't skyrocket your insulin levels. Because until now, there was no other way to make a bar that tasted good and didn't rot on the shelf. We had to create a process so unique that we protected it by filing a patent. That's why you won't see any other bars like ours on the market - Quest is the first truly low carb bar with no simple carbs or sugar alcohols. A perfect meal in your pocket.

I've reduced carbs this year and find that ordinary food now taste incredibly sweet, so I have to spit them out. Most nutrition bars are also sweet and I can tell by heat surges later on that the sugar alcohols and other artificial sweeteners have triggered a big insulin release. Some bars also taste of wood shavings or other odd flavours Quest bars are naked - ie they have no chocolate covering. They remind me of home made bars, but much more sophisticated and subtle tasting. They are pleasantly sweet and not overwhelming. The texture is firm and not cloying. I like the Vanilla & Almond flavour best. Great addition to the market. 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful: My favorite low-carb protein bars, By This review is from: Quest Bar vanilla almond crunch (Health and Beauty) I have tried many protein bars like Doctor's CarbRite and thinkThin. thinkThin (Dark Chocolate) used to be my favorite until I came across Quest Bars; I absolutely love the taste and I really like how they are digested: it feels as if I am eating some nuts, no side effects whatsoever. thinkThin make me feel a little bloated, especially if I eat a couple. I have eaten a couple of Quest Bars without any problems. Similar to the difference between grain-fed and grass-fed beef, one makes you feel like you have eaten a rock (at least for me) while the other feels like you have eaten some easy-to-digest veggies. The list of ingredients is ridiculously short: 11 vs. 21 (excluding vitamins and minerals) for thinkThin. The ingredient list doesn't include any scary-sounding chemicals; Lo Han Guo (or Luo Han Guo) is a very sweet Asian fruit that is supposed to be 300 times sweeter than sugar and has been used as a sweetener for almost one thousand years (according to Wikipedia). Ive been thru about 20 boxes in the last few months and can say it has not stalled any weight loss progress. Recently Body fat tested at 8%. New flavors are due out between March & the summer. My only negatives (not detracting from my ratings) are price (wish they had deals for larger purchases) and would like to see some options for higher protein counts per bar, even if it raises the total calories. Definitely recommend giving these a try. |
